Illegals Flee AZ to Other States - Obama Admin Offers Illegals Art Classes, Bingo, Internet Access, Email & Continental Breakfasts

First noted is that Hispanics moving out of Arizona. Where are they going -- to other states! They are headed first to states like Arkansas, Texas, Louisiana, Nevada, California, Missouri, and Kansas. They are probably not going to Oklahoma because they have made it clear that they will not support  illegal aliens.  Alan Gomez, USA TODAY writes:
Arizona's tough new immigration enforcement law is fueling an exodus of Hispanics from the state seven weeks before it goes into effect, according to officials and residents in the state. . . . Schools in Hispanic areas report unusual drops in enrollment. The Balsz Elementary School District is 75% Hispanic, and within a month of the law's passage, the parents of 70 students pulled them out of school, said District Superintendent Jeffrey Smith. The district lost seven students over the same period last year, and parents tell Smith the law is the reason for leaving. "They're leaving to another state where they feel more welcome," he said.

The measure, signed into law April 23 by Republican Gov. Jan Brewer, requires a police officer to determine people's immigration status if they are stopped, detained or arrested and there is "reasonable suspicion" they are in the country illegally.

About 100,000 illegal immigrants left Arizona after the state passed a law in 2007 that enhanced penalties on businesses that hired them, according to the Department of Homeland Security. . . .

Juan Carlos Cruz, an illegal immigrant who has worked in plant nurseries for 20 years, plans to move. "If I were alone, I'd try to stay. But I have a family, and I have to find a place where we can live with more freedom," Cruz said.

Brewer spokesman Paul Senseman said it's difficult to gauge how many people are leaving because of the law. "If ... fewer people are breaking the law, that is absolutely an accomplishment," he said.

We also learned a couple days ago that President Obama's administration is making life easier for detained illegal aliens with your tax dollars. Why didn't he finish building the fence with our tax dollars?

It looks like President Barack Obama is bowing to the concerns of Mexican President Felipe Calderon who sees all Mexicans leaving Mexico as migrants and all people except Mexican citizens entering Mexico as illegals. We now learn that illegals in ICE detention centers will have amenities not even offered troops on the front lines or offered to detained but non-convicted legal residents. ICE detention centers exist to hold, process and return illegals to their home countries. While some may be being held for criminal processing, the fact is in any case illegals could not be receiving amenities beyond there meals and a cot and fast deportation processing. Mexico isn't offering these amenities for illegals being held in their jails and prisons.

Susan Carroll of the Houston Chronicle reports:
Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials are preparing to roll out a series of changes at several privately owned immigration detention centers, including relaxing some security measures for low-risk detainees and offering art classes, bingo and continental breakfast on the weekends. . . .

In addition to “softening the look of the facility” with hanging plants and offering fresh carrot sticks, ICE will allow for the “free movement” of low-risk detainees, expand visiting hours and provide unmonitored phone lines. ICE officials said the changes are part of broader efforts to make the immigration detention system less penal and more humane. . . .

But the plans are prompting protests by ICE's union leaders, who say they will jeopardize the safety of agents, guards and detainees and increase the bottom line for taxpayers. Tre Rebstock, president for Local 3332, the ICE union in Houston, likened the changes to creating “an all-inclusive resort” for immigration detainees. . . .

Other major changes include:
• Eliminating lockdowns and lights-out for low-risk detainees.
• Allowing visitors to stay as long as they like in a 12-hour period.
• Providing a unit manger so detainees have someone to report problems to other than the guard.
• Allowing low-risk detainees to wear their own clothing or other non-penal attire.
• Providing e-mail access and Internet-based free phone service.

ICE officials have faced pressure from immigrant advocates and some members of Congress to improve the detention conditions for the roughly 400,000 immigrants it houses annually. . . .

At the CCA facilities that have agreed to ICE's changes, detainees will see more variety in their dining hall menus and have self-serve beverage and fresh vegetable bars. CCA also plans to offer movie nights, bingo, arts and crafts, dance and cooking classes, tutoring and computer training, the e-mail states.

Detainees also will be allowed four hours or more of recreation “in a natural setting, allowing for robust aerobic exercise.” CCA also committed to improving the look of the facilities, such as requiring plants, fresh paint and new bedding in lower-risk units. . . .

“My grandparents would have loved to have bingo night and a dance class at the retirement home they were in when they passed away, but that was something we would have had to pay for,” [Rebstock ] said. “And yet these guys are getting it on the taxpayers' dime.”

CCA claims that the resort amenities will only be provided for "non-criminals". However, local jails drop their criminal charges for illegals so they can ship them from their overcrowded jails to ICE detention. Result: criminals get a vegetable bar, free Internet and conjugal visits.
