Arizona Immigration Law: Leftist Hysteria, Lies, and Violent Protests

by Matt Ross, Conservative Hideout:
Arizona Immigration Law: Leftist Hysteria, Lies, and Violent Protests
With all of the hysteria and claims of “fascism” surrounding the illegal immigrant bill.  I thought that a look at the actual legislation might be in order.  I took the legislation from KYETLaw. The site appears to be non-partisan in nature.
B. For any lawful contact made by a law enforcement official or a law enforcement agency of this state or a law enforcement official or a law enforcement agency of a county, city, town or other political subdivision of this state where reasonable suspicion exists that the person is an alien who is unlawfully present in the United States, a reasonable attempt shall be made, when practicable, to determine the immigration status of the person, except if the determination may hinder or obstruct an investigation. Any person who is arrested shall have the person’s immigration status determined before the person is released. The person’s immigration status shall be verified with the federal government pursuant to 8 United States code section 1373(c). A law enforcement official or agency of this state or a county, city, town or other political subdivision of this state may not solely consider race, color or national origin in implementing the requirements of this subsection except to the extent permitted by the United States or Arizona Constitution. A person is presumed to not be an alien who is unlawfully present in the United States if the person provides to the law enforcement officer or agency any of the following:
1.  A valid Arizona driver license.
2.  A valid Arizona nonoperating identification license.
3.  A valid tribal enrollment card or other form of tribal identification.
4.  If the entity requires proof of legal presence in the United States before issuance, any valid United States federal, state or local government issued identification.
OK, what is a lawful contact? When you encounter a law enforcement officer in the course of the officer’s duties, for example, during a traffic stop. Also note that the law precludes the use of race as a rationale for questioning someone.
C. If an alien who is unlawfully present in the United States is convicted of a violation of state or local law, on discharge from imprisonment or on the assessment of any monetary obligation that is imposed, the United States immigration and customs enforcement or the United States customs and border protection shall be immediately notified.
So, the state authorities will turn over an illegal immigrant to the Border Patrol.
E.  Except as provided in federal law, officials or agencies of this state and counties, cities, towns and other political subdivisions of this state may not be prohibited or in any way be restricted from sending, receiving or maintaining information relating to the immigration status, lawful or unlawful, of any individual or exchanging that information with any other federal, state or local governmental entity for the following official purposes:
1.  Determining eligibility for any public benefit, service or license provided by any federal, state, local or other political subdivision of this state.
2.  Verifying any claim of residence or domicile if determination of residence or domicile is required under the laws of this state or a judicial order issued pursuant to a civil or criminal proceeding in this state.
3.  If the person is an alien, determining whether the person is in compliance with the federal registration laws prescribed by title II, chapter 7 of the federal immigration and Nationality act.
4.  Pursuant to 8 United States Code section 1373 and 8 United States Code section 1644.
I would take this to mean that various agencies and divisions of the state government can communicate regarding the status of immigrants so they might be barred from receiving welfare benefits, and other privileges as described in that section.

OK then, this law cooperates with Federal authority, bans the use of racial profiling, and only allows officers to inquire about immigration status in the course of doing something else in their duties. So, in other words, the cops can’t go up to anyone who looks Mexican, and haul them off. In fact, the law expressly forbids this.
This got me thinking.  There is a law in my state that is somewhat similar.  Here is a quote from ONECLE.
(2)  Except for children under eight years of age and except as provided in paragraphs (1) and (1.1), each driver and front seat occupant of a passenger car, Class I truck, Class II truck or motor home operated in this Commonwealth
shall wear a properly adjusted and fastened safety seat belt system. A conviction under this paragraph by State or local law enforcement agencies shall occur only as a secondary action when a driver of a motor vehicle has been convicted of
any other provision of this title. The driver of a passenger automobile shall secure or cause to be secured in a properly adjusted and fastened safety seat belt system any occupant who is eight years of age or older and less than 18 years of
age.
So, in PA, if I am driving down the road without a seat belt on, the police can’t touch me. However, if I run a red light, fail to stop at a stop sign, and so on, the police can stop me, and THEN, they can write me up for not using my seat belt. Just like the Arizona law, the police have to be engaged in a lawful contact with me to cite me for not wearing a seat belt.

Well, I think we need to apply the same level of liberal logic to the PA seat belt law…

THEY’RE FASCISTS THAT ARE USING RACIAL PROFILING TO PERSECUTE ME!!!!!!!!!

Actually though, the Arizona law actually has protections against the use of racial profiling. The PA law does not. Essentially, the Arizona law has more protections of civil liberties than the one in PA.

THAT’S IT!! WE’RE GOING TO HAVE A VIOLENT PROTEST!!

That’s right folks, there was a violent protest against the Arizona law. Didn’t hear about that from the MSM, did you? It seems that the MSM is still too busy trying to smear Conservatives as violent terrorists (without a single shred of evidence) to pay much attention to the ACTUAL violence of the left. Here’s the video.

They apparently don’t like being filmed either.
Please remember that this is OK. It was the left doing it. Had this happened at at Tea Party, the MSM would run it regularly for weeks.

I think it’s important to remember that if the GOP or Democrats-Bush or Obama, had actually done their job, Arizona would have had no reason to contemplate this type of law. If is the failure of the federal government, and both political parties, to enforce federal law, and fulfill their Constitutional duty to protect us from foreign threats.

What the open borders crowd really thinks

Dr. Bill Smith, Editor: The following article by Peter Wilson shows how some radical nut case professors are indoctrinating students and influencing others. They advocate that you give up everything you have to the rest of the world. My ancestors legally immigrated to the United States passing through Ellis Island. They came with almost nothing. However, the richness and the bounty of American combined with the rights and freedoms guaranteed to legal citizens under the U.S. Constitution offered them opportunities if they followed the Nation's and God's laws. Many of them eventually settled into Appalachia and became coal miners. They worked hard and they and their descendants do not owe anything to the rest of the world (other countries) or to those who come here illegally and violate our laws. Note the previous article by Michelle Malkin on "How Mexico Treats Illegal Aliens."
---------------
by Peter Wilson, American Thinker: The Arizona immigration law prompted Seth Minkoff of Somerville, a professor at UMass Boston, to write a letter to the Boston Globe, titled Illegal' immigrants have moral claim on US citizenship rights:
...some of us also feel that the fundamental aim of this law - enforcement of federal immigration regulations - is immoral.

A great many undocumented immigrants come here from countries that the United States has systematically devastated for generations by overthrowing democracy (as in Guatemala), sponsoring dictatorship and state terror (Guatemala, Nicaragua, El Salvador, and Haiti), and invading and annexing territory (Mexico). Actions such as these have helped the United States to control a grossly outsized share of world resources.

Until the US share of world resources is proportional to its population, so-called illegal immigrants will have a moral claim second to none on the rights of US citizenship. Arizona's new law, like the federal laws it seeks to enforce, is an assault on people's basic right to feed and clothe their families - in other words, on their right to access their fair share of the planet's wealth, the patrimony of humanity.
I have heard of open borders advocates, but I didn't realize how radical the concept is. We owe reparations to Central America? How exactly did overthrowing democracy in Guatemala make us rich? Annexing territory? Settlers from England fought with settlers from Spain over territory in the southwest. We won. We even paid for some of it (see Gadsden Purchase).

The planet's wealth is the patrimony of humanity? In other words, private property is theft.

"Until the US share of world resources is proportional to its population"? Does this mean that once we have redistributed American wealth on a global scale, making everyone equally poor, we can then limit immigration? The brilliance of the scheme is that at this point, there's no reason to immigrate to the United States.

Minkoff describes immigration laws as an "assault. His dream of global redistribution is an assault on the generations of Americans whose hard work created our great wealth.

How Mexico Treats Illegal Aliens

By Michelle Malkin, Editorial GOPUSA: Mexican President Felipe Calderon has accused Arizona of opening the door "to intolerance, hate, discrimination and abuse in law enforcement." But Arizona has nothing on Mexico when it comes to cracking down on illegal aliens. While open-borders activists decry new enforcement measures signed into law in "Nazi-zona" last week, they remain deaf, dumb or willfully blind to the unapologetically restrictionist policies of our neighbors to the south.

The Arizona law bans sanctuary cities that refuse to enforce immigration laws, stiffens penalties against illegal alien day laborers and their employers, makes it a misdemeanor for immigrants to fail to complete and carry an alien registration document, and allows the police to arrest immigrants unable to show documents proving they are in the U.S. legally. If those rules constitute the racist, fascist, xenophobic, inhumane regime that the National Council of La Raza, Al Sharpton, Catholic bishops and their grievance-mongering followers claim, then what about these regulations and restrictions imposed on foreigners?

-- The Mexican government will bar foreigners if they upset "the equilibrium of the national demographics." How's that for racial and ethnic profiling?

-- If outsiders do not enhance the country's "economic or national interests" or are "not found to be physically or mentally healthy," they are not welcome. Neither are those who show "contempt against national sovereignty or security." They must not be economic burdens on society and must have clean criminal histories. Those seeking to obtain Mexican citizenship must show a birth certificate, provide a bank statement proving economic independence, pass an exam and prove they can provide their own health care.

-- Illegal entry into the country is equivalent to a felony punishable by two years' imprisonment. Document fraud is subject to fine and imprisonment; so is alien marriage fraud. Evading deportation is a serious crime; illegal re-entry after deportation is punishable by ten years' imprisonment. Foreigners may be kicked out of the country without due process and the endless bites at the litigation apple that illegal aliens are afforded in our country (see, for example, President Obama's illegal alien aunt -- a fugitive from deportation for eight years who is awaiting a second decision on her previously rejected asylum claim).

-- Law enforcement officials at all levels -- by national mandate -- must cooperate to enforce immigration laws, including illegal alien arrests and deportations. The Mexican military is also required to assist in immigration enforcement operations. Native-born Mexicans are empowered to make citizens' arrests of illegal aliens and turn them in to authorities.

-- Ready to show your papers? Mexico's National Catalog of Foreigners tracks all outside tourists and foreign nationals. A National Population Registry tracks and verifies the identity of every member of the population, who must carry a citizens' identity card. Visitors who do not possess proper documents and identification are subject to arrest as illegal aliens.

All of these provisions are enshrined in Mexico's Ley General de Población (General Law of the Population) and were spotlighted in a 2006 research paper published by the Washington, D.C.-based Center for Security Policy. There's been no public clamor for "comprehensive immigration reform" in Mexico, however, because pro-illegal alien speech by outsiders is prohibited.

Consider: Open-borders protesters marched freely at the Capitol building in Arizona, comparing GOP Gov. Jan Brewer to Hitler, waving Mexican flags, advocating that demonstrators "Smash the State," and holding signs that proclaimed "No human is illegal" and "We have rights."

But under the Mexican constitution, such political speech by foreigners is banned. Noncitizens cannot "in any way participate in the political affairs of the country." In fact, a plethora of Mexican statutes enacted by its congress limit the participation of foreign nationals and companies in everything from investment, education, mining and civil aviation to electric energy and firearms. Foreigners have severely limited private property and employment rights (if any).

As for abuse, the Mexican government is notorious for its abuse of Central American illegal aliens who attempt to violate Mexico's southern border. The Red Cross has protested rampant Mexican police corruption, intimidation and bribery schemes targeting illegal aliens there for years. Mexico didn't respond by granting mass amnesty to illegal aliens, as it is demanding that we do. It clamped down on its borders even further. In late 2008, the Mexican government launched an aggressive deportation plan to curtain illegal Cuban immigration and human trafficking through Cancun.

Meanwhile, Mexican consular offices in the United States have coordinated with left-wing social justice groups and the Catholic Church leadership to demand a moratorium on all deportations and a freeze on all employment raids across America.

Mexico is doing the job Arizona is now doing -- a job the U.S. government has failed miserably to do: putting its people first. Here's the proper rejoinder to all the hysterical demagogues in Mexico (and their sympathizers here on American soil) now calling for boycotts and invoking Jim Crow laws, apartheid and the Holocaust because Arizona has taken its sovereignty into its own hands:

Hipócritas.

Exercising its sovereign right under the Constitution’s 10th Amendment, Arizona has enacted a law empowering its state and local police officers to use suspected illegal immigrant status as a crime-fighting tool. The law, which GOP Gov. Jan Brewer signed April 23, uses state police authority to step up pressure on illegal aliens. This should help force many to leave the state—and the country—on their own or else face time behind bars. This measure promotes attrition through enforcement, the most reasonable, rational strategy on the enforcement side of the immigration equation....

Last year, while Americans were losing a net of 5 million jobs, the U.S. government -- Bush and Obama both -- issued 1,131,000 green cards to legal immigrants to come and take the jobs that did open up, a flood of immigrants equaled in only four other years in our history. Illegal Alien Supporters

by Kenneth Wallis, Little Rock Immigration Examiner: When illegal alien supporters don't get their way, they harass, when that doesn't work, they riot! Several illegal alien thugs try to attack an old man for wearing a T-Shirt they disagreed with. Police tried to protect him and his 1st amendment rights, but then they too are attacked and have to flee. Will this type of behavior happen in Arkansas?

Many in government on a national and state level want illegal immigration to continue and want you to pay for it. They also don't like it when their agenda is exposed. Here's an older video of when KeepArkansasLegal members tried to get information about a meeting by the Mexican Consulate at the Arkansas State Capitol.

Secure Arkansas is trying to put an Arkansas Constitutional Amendment on the November 2010 ballot by gathering signatures. To know more about this issue, visit SecureArkansas.com.

Interior & Agriculture Dept Officials Prevent Border Patrol From Securing U.S. - Mexico Border

by Edwin Mora, CNSNews.com: Legislation recently introduced by House Republicans would “prohibit the Secretaries of the Interior and Agriculture from taking action on public lands which impede border security on such lands." The bill’s supporters believe that, if it is passed, the bill will allow the U.S. Border Patrol to secure the southern border without the assistance of the National Guard.

Republican sponsors of the bill indicated that the Interior Department's interference with the Border Patrol’s congressionally mandated operations had opened the 20.7 million acres of public land along the southern border to illicit activity, which is often associated with illegal immigration. “We are introducing this bill today simply because the Department of Interior and, to a lesser extent, the Forest Service, have failed to protect American citizens,” said Rep. Rob Bishop (R-UT), ranking member of the House Public Lands subcommittee who is sponsoring the legislation.

“Unfortunately, the land managers that are down there on the (southern) border have placed the wilderness characteristics of the land and protection of existing or potential endangered species as their number one criteria, and because of that, the border patrol has been impeded from doing their job,” said Bishop.

The congressman further said, “(W)e have huge and gigantic holes in the border through which most of the illegal drugs coming into this country are coming, through which human trafficking and all the violence, especially against women, are taking place … and the potential of terrorists coming into this country coming through the holes that are, that are caused simply because of the land management policies this nation has on all the federal lands that are down there ….”

Bishop also remarked on the violence against American citizens that has occurred apparently as a result of conflict between the Interior Department and border agents. Last month, Rob Krentz, a 58-year-old Arizona rancher, was shot and killed on his own property by an alleged illegal immigrant drug smuggler who entered the United States by crossing federal land.

Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (R-AZ), who serves the southern part of Arizona, has written to President Obama and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, requesting that National Guard soldiers be sent to the area. Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) has echoed these requests.

Of the 20.7 million acres of federal land covered by the Republican bill, 4.3 million acres are designated as “wilderness areas.” In a prepared statement, the sponsors of the legislation said that “according to internal memos, DOI officials have asserted that the Wilderness Act of 1964 trumps border security legislation passed by Congress.” According to the 1964 federal Wilderness Act, “wilderness” land is broadly defined as “an area where the earth and its community of life are untrammeled by man, where man himself is a visitor who does not remain.” The “wilderness area” designation prohibits Border Patrol agents from using motorized vehicles, building roads, or installing monitoring devices in these areas, which essentially makes them inaccessible to agents.

The strict enforcement of these regulations has failed to preserve the lands as originally intended. Pictures displayed at the press conference showed that much of the “wilderness areas” had been trashed by illegal immigrants using these trails to cover their entry into the United States.

CNSNews.com asked Rep. Pete King (R-NY) during the press conference if he thought it was necessary to use the National Guard to secure sections of the entire southern border. The congressman responded “no,” adding “I believe Border Patrol, if they’re given the operational powers they need they can secure the border.”

“If we do complete the barriers along the border,” King said, “if this is primarily a federal responsibility – and I believe that the border patrol can secure operational control of the borders if it’s allowed to do its job – and as far as the use of National Guard, if governors believe it’s appropriate, I certainly would support that.

“So allow the Border Security to do what they are trained to do,” Bishop told CNSNews.com. “Right now they are prohibited and impeded in doing their jobs. That’s what we’re asking in this particular bill, they can handle it or at least give them the chance to fail, but let, let them have at what they’ve been trained to do.”
---------
A transcript of the exchange between CNSNews.com and King and Bishop follows:
CNSNews.com: “Do you think it’s necessary to utilize the National Guard to secure all border lands along the U.S./Mexican border?”

Rep. King: “I don’t think we have to have the National Guard. I think that if governors in particular states want to use the National Guard and they want federal that’s certainly appropriate. But I believe Border Patrol, if they’re given the operational powers they need, they can secure the border. If we do complete the, the barriers along the border, if – this is primarily a federal responsibility, and I believe that the border patrol can secure operational control of the borders, if it’s allowed to do its job – and as far as the use of National Guard if governors believe it’s appropriate I certainly would support that.”

Rep. Bishop: “Let me come back here, that’s, once again, that’s the point of the bill. Border security can do their job. They’re doing a marvelous job in the urban areas along the border. But that’s why the drug traffickers are now going to these rural areas that are controlled by the Department of Interior and the Forest Service. So allow the Border Security to do what they are trained to do. Right now they are prohibited and impeded in doing their jobs. That’s what we’re asking in this particular bill, they can handle it or at least give them the chance to fail, but let, let them have at what they’ve been trained to do.”

Arizona law sparks debate in El Paso

April 26th, 2010 by TexasFred

Arizona law sparks debate in El Paso

EL PASO — The Mexican consul’s office in El Paso issued a statement criticizing the new Arizona measure that requires local police to enforce immigration laws.

The consul’s statement reflects the Mexican federal government’s position on the controversial law.

“Although the Mexican government recognizes the sovereign rights of all countries to decide policies that apply in their own territories, nevertheless, we cannot remain indifferent over a law like (Arizona) Senate Bill 1070, which has the potential to affect the human rights of thousands of Mexican people,” the statement said.

“Criminalization is not the way to resolve the phenomenon of undocumented immigration … The Mexican government will use its resources to defend the rights and dignity of Mexicans in Arizona.”

Full story Here: Arizona law sparks debate in El Paso

Debate in El Paso is great, I want debate, and immediate action, in AUSTIN!

I want our state legislature ALL OVER this issue, and I don’t mean a year from now, I don’t mean just before the next election, I mean NOW! And I am fairly certain that I am not the only LEGAL American VOTER in the great state of Texas that feels this way!

“Although the Mexican government recognizes the sovereign rights of all countries to decide policies that apply in their own territories, nevertheless, we cannot remain indifferent over a law like (Arizona) Senate Bill 1070, which has the potential to affect the human rights of thousands of Mexican people,”

Human rights only seem to matter to Mexico when it’s the American society that is taking the hits, providing education, healthcare and the like. I haven’t heard of any massive social welfare reforms or programs in Mexico. Maybe that’s why, coupled with Mexico’s lack of human rights in it’s own nation, maybe that’s why we have so many Mexicans coming to the USA illegally!

Maybe we need to simplify OUR immigration laws, make them so simple that even a child can understand their exact intent! [See Blogs for Border's Post: Say What? Let me see if I got this right . . .]

It’s really funny how Mexico, and pretty much every other nation on earth, can enforce their laws regarding immigration, and enforce them stringently, but if WE enforce OUR immigration laws, WE are violating human rights! . . .

It’s time to stand up and FIGHT America. Arizona is blazing a trail and the rest of these United States need to support Arizona and follow suit.

It’s not going to make Barack Hussein Obama happy, it’s not going to make the 20 some odd million or more illegals in this nation happy, but it will make the vast majority of LEGAL, hard working, tax paying and VOTING Americans ecstatic!

See the original post on the El Paso Times and VOTE in their online poll!

Illegals Riot in Wake of Arizona Immigration Crackdown

Illegal alien supporters attack police with rocks and bottles after passage of a new bill cracking down on illegal alien invaders. Gee, they are illegal and they expect the same rights and benefits of legal. What insanity. Rule breakers have received special attention by a failed enforcement policy by the Federal government and some in the Obama administration are considering giving these individuals a preferential advantage over those who have waited in line to become American citizens. Arizona governor signs immigration enforcement bill

Update 4/24/2010: A reader provided this appropriate image for this subject.

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer today signed into law a bill to address illegal immigration in Arizona which is one of the nation's gateway for human and drug smuggling. The legislation makes it a crime under state law to be in the country illegally. It also requires local police officers to question people about their immigration status if there is reason to suspect they are illegal immigrants, allows lawsuits against government agencies that hinder enforcement of immigration laws, and make it illegal to hire illegal immigrants for day labor or knowingly transport them.

The new immigration law will require anyone whom police suspect of being in the country illegally to produce "an alien registration document," such as a green card, or other proof of citizenship such as a passport or Arizona driver's license. It also makes it illegal to impede the flow of traffic by picking up day laborers for work. A day laborer who gets picked up for work, thus impeding traffic, would also be committing a criminal act.

Brewer also issued an executive order Arizona Police Officer Standards and Training board to develop training that will help police agencies appropriately implement the legislation, including what does or does not constitute reasonable suspicion that somebody is an illegal immigrant. Brewer vowed to protect individual civil rights, saying, "I will not tolerate racial discrimination or racial profiling in Arizona." The law goes into effect 90 days after the current legislative session ends, which is expected to be sometime in early May. Plenty of time for illegals in Arizona to leave. However, surrounding states may now be faced with the an expanding number of illegals heading to their states verses back across the Mexican border.

President Obama whose administration has failed in securing the borders under his present Secretary of Homeland Security whi happens to be the former Arizona governor Janet Nepalitano. President Barack Obama in an attempt to influence the Arizona governor to veto the bill called the Arizona immigration bill “misguided” and said it could violate people’s civil rights. Obama presumes to interfere with the right of states to protect themselves after he as president has failed in his responsibility to secure the U.S. borders against invasions by illegals. Mr. President, illegal aliens (regardless or nationality or origin outside the U.S. be it Mexico, Ireland, Iran, Kenya or any other country) are not entitled to civil rights in the United States.

Criminal Aliens Pose Threat to Homeland Security

by Elisabeth Meinecke, Human Events: An Arizona sheriff told a congressional hearing Tuesday that the increase of criminal aliens coming across the border is the greatest homeland security threat facing America.

Cochise County Sheriff Larry Dever, testifying before the Senate Homeland Security and Border Affairs Committee, said that 17% of people crossing the boarder near Tucson have a criminal record in the United States. “The bad guys keep coming, and no matter whether the apprehension rates rise or fall, the numbers of criminal aliens rise,” Dever said. “That, sir, is the threat to our homeland security in this country.”

Dever told HUMAN EVENTS he supports a new immigration reform measure proposed by Arizona Senators John McCain and Jon Kyl and as well as a tough immigration bill passed by the Arizona legislature on Monday. The McCain-Kyl proposal would send National Guard troops to the border, which Dever says he has been begging for for years. Dever also supports an increase in Border Patrol agents along the border.

Dever said he asked if bringing National Guard troops to the border was still on the table during a face-to-face meeting with former Arizona governor and current Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano last year. She told him she was working on the logistics and would have an answer within three weeks. Dever said the nearly year-long delay lies more with the President and the White House than Napolitano.

During the hearing, McCain questioned Alan Bersin, commissioner of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agency, about resources being allocated to border security. In his opening statement, McCain said the President’s budget for 2010 sought to cut 181 Border Patrol agents. Bersin, while admitting violence has increased along the border, said the number of Border Patrol agents will stay the same from this year to next year. . . .

All three witnesses on the second panel -- Dever, Dennis Burke, the U.S. attorney for the District of Arizona, and Octavio Garcia-Von Borstel, the mayor of Nogales, Ariz. -- agreed that the situation on the border is worse than it was a year ago when the committee held a field hearing in Arizona. However, Burke said some of the steps taken along the border may have also led to the increase in violence, since criminal organizations may be feeling the squeeze as their routes become limited.

Bersin said that the agency deployed additional agents to the area where Arizona rancher Robert Krentz was recently murdered. Dever gave an update on the investigation into the murder of Krentz, killed last month on his own property. He said the murder was so “senseless” that it brought the head detective on the case to tears.

There was some back and forth at the hearing over whether the murderer was in fact an illegal alien or drug smuggler, with Bersin pointing out that the investigation continues as to whether Krentz’s murderer was connected with a smuggling outfit. Dever said there is reason to believe the murderer was a scout for a drug smuggling organization. He said smugglers were often better equipped than the law enforcement. “It’s a thirty-five thousand acre remote cattle ranch,” Dever said. “There’s jack rabbits, rattlesnakes, a few cattle grazing on that barren pasture, illegal aliens, and drug smugglers out there, and that’s it. This wasn’t somebody walking to Wal-Mart to go shoplift something.”

America We Have An Illegal Immigration Problem

William Green, ALIPAC, speaks out against illegal immigration and against Comprehensive Immigration Reform AMNESTY at the Tax Day Tea Party in Houston, Texas on April 15, 2010. The crowd boos Senators John McCain and Lindsey Graham as well as Nancy Pelosi, Janet Napolitano, Harry Reid, etc. The crowd response to William Gheen of Americans for Legal Immigration PAC's speech should dispel any doubts of where the Tea Party folks stand on illegal immigration. Border Clean Up Day - April 24 - SGP Honors Rancher Robert Krentz

Stacy Mott, Smart Girl Politics: Jennifer Leslie and Jonathan Grim of SGP Arizona state group have put together a project to honor the life of rancher Robert Krentz who was killed helping an illegal alien on his property.

This project put together by our members is bringing together the border community to help clean up ranch properties like that of Mr. Krentz. The group has invited all candidates running for local and federal races to get involved in the event.

The ravages of the open border policies are seen daily by Southern Arizonans. It is a story that should be on the front page of every newspaper, but it is largely ignored. Illegal immigrants cross our border with impunity and are emboldened to even cross into the military installation of Fort Huachuca. The fact that an American city, Phoenix, ranks second in the world in kidnappings after Mexico City is a scandal, yet those of us who show concern are called racists and inhumane. Environmentalist should be appalled by the amount of trash and debris left by smugglers and those paying them.

Periodically, when I go to the University of Arizona campus in Tucson, I see a church with a huge banner that reads something about supporting ‘humane borders’. There is absolutely nothing humane about human smuggling, drop houses or ransom related kidnappings in Arizona that the rest of the nation is completely oblivious to. This tragedy of twenty-first century human slavery is the most under-reported, unknown story imaginable. Robert Krentz believed in being humane to those crossing our border illegally, and that cost him his life. This is not a partisan issue! Join Smart Girl Politics Tucson in honoring Mr. Krentz and his family in a Border Clean-Up. Let’s keep attention on this issue and keep our politicians accountable in protecting the lives of American citizens and limiting the tragedy of human smuggling. Border Clean Up Day is April 24th. . . . For more information

Illegal Immigrant Supporters try to steal thunder from tea party

By Stephen Dinan, The Washington Times: Immigrant-rights groups sought to tap some of the "tea party" thunder Thursday by using the anti-tax-and-spending movement's nationwide protests to argue illegal immigrants must be legalized because they are eager to pay their full taxes.

But tea partiers, rallying on the day federal income-tax returns were due, didn't buy it. . . . "Here there are people who don't want to pay taxes, and we're saying there are all these people who want to carry the load and we don't allow them to," said Mary Moreno, a spokeswoman for the Center for Community Change. She led a delegation that delivered five boxes of blank tax forms to a Capitol Hill office as a symbol of all the tax money left uncollected because illegal immigrants have not been legalized. . . . The Obama Administration's spending in the past year has been unprecedented and Tax Day won't come and go quietly. In just over a year, Democrats in Washington have proposed trillions of dollars in new taxes on American Families -- and passed hundreds of billions in new taxes to pay for their government takeover of our health care. These new taxes affect you and your family -- every day.

AlIPAC Members Asking Congress To Use Census To Deport Illegal Aliens

ALIPAC is asking supporters to initiate tens of thousands of calls to Congressional offices asking for a new law that would allow US Census data to be used to detect, detain, and deport illegal immigrants who fill out the 2010 Census.

"Our Federal government has a Constitutional responsibility to enforce our existing immigration laws and those laws state that it is unlawful to encourage or assist an illegal alien to remain unlawfully in the US," said William Gheen. "Therefore, we are asking Congress to pass new legislation to block the Obama administration's current efforts, which are encouraging illegal aliens to use the American Census to steal more taxpayer resources and diminish representation for legal Americans."

Illegal immigrants are being targeted with taxpayer funded ads in Spanish encouraging them to fill out the Census, so they will get more taxpayer resources and have more political power. It is a felony for illegal aliens to register or vote in elections, thus counting illegal aliens and using their unlawful presence to assign more Congressional seats to states is theft of representation from lawful Americans.

"Multi-million dollar groups like La Raza want illegal aliens counted by the census because they want more political power," said William Gheen. "Americans will not stand for the theft of our nation and this corruption of our laws to the extent that millions of illegal aliens will gain 18 members of Congress, if fully counted and allowed to remain in the US!"

The average congressional district currently has 647,000 people in it using census data. It is estimated there are over 12 million illegal aliens in America. While the representation assigned to illegal aliens filling out the Census will be distributed around the nation, it could equal the power of 18 members of Congress!

If the current Comprehensive Immigration Reform Amnesty legislation in Washington passes, those illegal aliens would become voters giving them massive influence in possibly hundreds of congressional districts.

"Each illegal alien counted by the census without deportation will take away taxpayer resource allocation and congressional representation from one legal American citizen," said William Gheen. "We want Congress to take action now to authorize and require the use of census data collected to identify illegal aliens, exclude them from the census count for tax resources and Congressional redistricting, and to detain and deport those found in violation of our immigration laws."

Happy Easter!

Almost 2000 years ago, the only innocent man to ever walk the Earth arose from the grave after being betrayed by one of his closest friends, humiliated by the public, brutally beaten and executed by the Roman authorities. Now he serves as the intercessor between us and God the Father. He died for my sins, and yours. All he asks in return is that we believe in him. We give thanks for his sacrifice for all of us. And here are a few songs that celebrate his escape from the grave, and our salvation!
