Illegal Immigrant Arrested in Drug Operation

Israel Martinez by Joe Lamb, LogCabin Democrat : Israel Martinez, 28, of Bonnerdale, Ark., was arrested on Wednesday in Clinton as a result of an eight-month-long joint drug operation. The 20th Judicial Prosecuting Attorney’s Drug Task force, Arkansas State Police Narcotics Division, Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department and other state and federal agencies cooperated in this extensive investigation. Additionally, the Air National Guard Counter Drug Unit provided air support and surveillance during the purchase that led to the arrest.

Over the past several months in the cities of Clinton, Conway, Little Rock and Hot Springs undercover agents purchased methamphetamine (ICE) and cocaine from Martinez. Three separate drug purchases were completed in Van Buren County. During the investigation, agents purchased and seized approximately $2,800 worth of cocaine and $52,000 worth of methamphetamine.

On Wednesday agents purchased approximately a half-pound of methamphetamine from Martinez in the Walmart parking lot in Clinton. Upon the completion of the purchase, agents took Martinez into custody without incident. Martinez was then transported to the Van Buren County Detention Center where he is currently being held.

Agents interviewing Martinez discovered he was in the United States illegally. During the course of the investigation, agents determined that Mr. Martinez has sold as much as ten pounds of methamphetamine over the last several years, which would have a street value of over $400,000.

Twentieth Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney Marcus Vaden praised the inter-agency cooperation shown during this operation. “This case is a prime example of what can be accomplished through cooperation and hard work. As criminal enterprises become more complex, the law enforcement community must also broaden its reach. Cooperation among agencies is going to be an essential tool as the fight against crime continues.”

Vaden also expressed concern over the fact that Martinez was in the United States illegally. “It is certainly my hope that after Martinez completes the judicial process that he would be deported to his home country.”

Obama orders 1,200 Guard troops to border

MSNBC: TUCSON, Ariz. - President Barack Obama on Tuesday ordered 1,200 National Guard troops to boost security along the U.S.-Mexico border, pre-empting Republican plans to try to force votes on such a deployment. Obama will also request $500 million for border protection and law enforcement activities, according to lawmakers and administration officials. . . .

A military official said Tuesday that details were still being worked out on the troops' orders and destinations, adding that the timing of their deployment was not yet clear. Also undetermined was which units from which states would deploy.

Administration officials said the National Guard troops will work on intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance support, analysis and training, and support efforts to block drug trafficking. They will temporarily supplement Border Patrol agents until Customs and Border Protection can recruit and train additional officers and agents to serve on the border, according to a letter Tuesday from top administration security officials to Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Carl Levin, D-Mich. . . .

Officials also said the funds will be used to enhance technology at the border and share information and support between law enforcement agencies as they target illegal trafficking in people, drugs, weapons and money. More than 20,000 Border Patrol agents are deployed now, mostly along the nation's southern border. There are 344 U.S. National Guard troops also working along the border.

Immigration issue in spotlight Obama has been all but compelled to do something since Arizona's passage of a tough illegal-immigration law thrust the border problem into the public spotlight.

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer on Tuesday credited her signing of the controversial new law for compelling Obama to act. The law requires state and local police to investigate the immigration status of people they reasonably suspect are in the country illegally. Brewer said in a statement that the law "clearly ignited the talk of action in Washington for the people of Arizona and other border states."

Brewer echoed other officials and said she was "anxious" to hear additional details setting out where, how, and for how long additional forces would be deployed. . . . [Full Story]

Secure Arkansas Collecting Signatures for Ballot Initiative to Limit State Funds Going to illegal Aliens

A grassroots organization, Secure Arkansas, is collecting signatures for a ballot initiative to amend the Arkansas Constitution.

In October 2009, they secured approval by Arkansas State Attorney General of the language for a constitutional ballot initiative to prevent illegal aliens over the age of 14 residing in Arkansas from receiving public funds such as Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and other public assistance. To get this constitutional amendment on the 2010 ballot, Secure Arkansas must collect 77,468 signatures.

The members of Secure Arkansas are working diligently to protect the rights of and to ensure that Arkansas' tax dollars benefit every Arkansan. One of the causes of skyrocketing health care costs is the illegal alien health care costs in increased health insurance premiums and health care costs should you become ill or injured. Doug Guiles Nails Mexico’s President Calderón

Doug Guiles On Townhall expressed how he would have acted verses the way Mexico’s Presidente Felipe Calderón "carping about our country’s laws." I think Doug speaks for the majority of American citizens in addressing the inappropriateness of the actions and words by Calderón in our US Congress. Let us know if you agree or disagree.
by Doug Guiles: Y’know, there’s nothing like being chastised by the president of a parasitical border nation whose trespassing citizens are wreaking havoc on our soil. Mexico’s Presidente Felipe Calderón carping about our country’s laws on our turf this past week in D.C. is like a fat tick complaining about the dog he’s sucking the life out of. Hey Felipe, haven’t you ever heard the maxim “beggars can’t be choosers”? Evidently not.

One must hand it to Calderón for having the cojones to condemn the country that’s keeping his gaunt nation buoyant. I wouldn’t have had the courage … or stupidity, or indecency … to do that.

Matter of fact, if I were president—or better yet, King of Douglandia—and Douglandia happened to have milked, oh … let’s say … $21 billion last year from the prosperous border country to our north, all the while my residents were:

- Creating chaos in our generous neighbor’s land by the exportation of tons of drugs to their kiddos,
- Kidnapping and killing their citizens,
- Trashing their ranches and national parks,
- Disrespecting their laws and flag,
- And spawning political turmoil in our over-gracious buddy’s government,

I wouldn’t dare open my stupid mouth and complain about the Constitution and the cops of the nation my civilians happen to be violating if I were invited to be speak in said nation.

Yep, if my crew caused all this crap in another country and I were asked to address the land that folks from Douglandia were pillaging, my speech would be very short and very sweet: It would mirror Borat’s sentiments toward the USA, and I would say, “Hello. My name is Doug from Douglandia. I like your country. It’s very nice. Please forgive what my gypsies have done to your land and people. I will discipline them upon my return like I did my sister when she tried to sell her sexy bits.”

After that gratitude-laden speech I would pass out patriotic Frisbees celebrating their land to all in attendance and offer free airfare passes on Douglandia Airlines to our few quasi-decent resort destinations to all the pusillanimous politicians who were aiding and abetting the raping of their nation by my criminal constituents. Yep, after my broke joke nation had received billions of dollars I sure as heck wouldn’t be complaining about the land I was milking (at least not to their faces).

Matter of fact, on second thought, I would have gone the biblical extra mile with the violated country after my brief lecture. Indeed, after my gracious speech and the distribution of parting gifts, I would have pulled out my Butt-Smacker magnum-sized lip balm and commenced to literally kiss the backsides of everyone in attendance in gratitude for not building a wall between our nations so huge it could be seen from Pluto.

Upon my return to my dog-eared land-of-no-opportunity, I would immediately dispatch squadrons of maids and trash picker-uppers to go and clean up all the mess my people had made trashing the countryside when they “migrated” to the great northern feeding grounds.

In addition, I would immediately capture and incarcerate those criminal miscreants who had made it to the Land of Plenty and acted untoward to such a benevolent place, as their bellicose behavior could possibly cause the faucet to shut off on the multi-billion dollar chunk of change we were getting from our benefactors.

Yes, that’s what I would have done if I were Calderón, but then again, my mother raised me right.

Read It Here -- Every Detail Of The Arizona Enforcement Law (originally SB 1070)

(EDITOR'S NOTE: Unlike federal officials who have criticized Arizona's law, Rosemary Jenks -- an attorney and NumbersUSA's Director of Government Relations -- has read it thoroughly and offers here a full description of every thing the law does.)

By Rosemary Jenks, Friday, May 21, 2010, 9:57 AM EDT - NumbersUSA:

Purpose of the Law:

  • To ensure “the cooperative enforcement of federal immigration laws throughout all of Arizona;”
  • To “make attrition through enforcement the public policy of all state and local government agencies in Arizona;” and
  • To “discourage and deter the unlawful entry and presence of aliens and economic activity by persons unlawfully present in the United States.”

What the Law Requires:

  1. Cooperation of and assistance by state and local officials in the enforcement of federal immigration laws to “the full extent permitted by federal law.”
    • During the course of “any lawful stop, detention, or arrest” made by any state or local law enforcement officer “in the enforcement of any other law or ordinance,” if the officer determines that there is reasonable suspicion that the person is an illegal alien, “a reasonable attempt” shall be made to determine the immigration status of the person by verifying immigration status with the federal government pursuant to federal law (8 U.S.C. 1373(c)).
      • In determining whether reasonable suspicion that an individual is illegally present, the law specifically prohibits unconstitutional profiling based on “race, color, or national origin in implementing” this section of the law.
      • The law specifically states that an individual is presumed to be lawfully present if he or she provides a valid Arizona driver’s license or identification card, a valid form of tribal identification, or valid identification issued by any U.S. federal, state, or local entity that requires proof of legal presence as a requirement of issuance.
      • An individual’s immigration status may be determined ONLY by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Customs and Border Protection (CBP), or a law enforcement officer authorized by the federal government to make such a determination.
    • ICE or CBP must be notified any time an illegal alien is released from imprisonment or fined following conviction of a violation of state or local law.
    • No state agency, county, city, town or other political subdivision of Arizona may enact or enforce a sanctuary policy in violation of federal law (8 U.S.C. 1644).
      • No official or agency may be prohibited or restricted from communicating with federal authorities for the following official purposes:
        1. Determining eligibility for public benefits, services, or licenses;
        2. Verifying a claim of residence if such determination is required by law;
        3. Determining whether an alien is in compliance with federal registration requirements (8 U.S.C. 1302-1304).
      • Any legal resident of Arizona may file suit against any official or agency or the state or a political subdivision that enacts or enforces a sanctuary policy in violation of federal law. If the court finds a violation has occurred, the official or agency may be fined (the money would go to the Gang and Immigration Intelligence Team Enforcement Mission Fund) and the person who brought the suit may be awarded court costs and reasonable attorney fees.
  2. Compliance with certain federal immigration laws at the state level.
    • Violation of the federal law requiring that all aliens over the age of 13 and present in the United States for 30 days or longer must register with the federal government (8 U.S.C. 1302) is now also a violation of Arizona law.
    • Violation of the federal law requiring all aliens over the age of 17 to carry their alien registration document with them at all times (8 U.S.C. 1304) is now also a violation of Arizona law.
    • Just as under federal law, violation of these new state laws is a misdemeanor carrying a penalty of no more than 30 days in jail.
  3. Day laborers and those who hire them to obey traffic laws and hiring laws.
    • It is a misdemeanor for a person seeking to pick up day laborers and transport them to a work site to block or impede the flow of traffic in order to pick up the workers.
    • It is a misdemeanor for day laborers to enter a motor vehicle to be transported to a work site if that motor vehicle blocks or impedes the flow of traffic to pick them up.
    • It is a misdemeanor for an illegal alien to knowingly apply for work, solicit work in a public place, or perform work as an employee or independent contractor in Arizona.
  4. Compliance with Arizona’s E-Verify law.
    • Existing Arizona law requires every Arizona business to use E-Verify to verify the employment eligibility of every new hire. The new law requires all Arizona businesses to keep a record of such verification for the duration of the employee’s employment or for three years, whichever is longer.
Download a full version of the Fact Sheet for Arizona's new immigration enforcement law.
Read the law, as amended, in its entirety.

California's Tom McClintock Objects to Mexico's President Attacking the USA From the Floor of Congress

H/T a12iggymom for the following post:

Rep Tom McClintock, R-CA-04 - Video - May 20, 2010Response to President Calderon
House Chamber, Washington, D.C.
May 20, 2010

M. Speaker:

I rise to take strong exception to the speech of the President of Mexico while in this chamber today.

The Mexican government has made it very clear for many years that it holds American sovereignty in contempt and President Calderon's behavior as a guest of the Congress confirms and underscores this attitude.

It is highly inappropriate for the President of Mexico to lecture Americans on American immigration policy, just as it would be for Americans to lecture Mexico on its laws.

It is obvious that President Calderon does not understand the nature of America or the purpose of our immigration law.

Unlike Mexico's immigration law -- which is brutally exclusionary -- the purpose of Americas law is not to keep people out. It is to assure that as people come to the United States, they do so with the intention of becoming Americans and of raising their children as Americans.

Unlike Mexico, our nation embraces immigration and what makes that possible is assimilation.

A century ago President Teddy Roosevelt put it this way. He said:

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language ... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

That is how we have built one great nation from the people of all the nations of the world.

The largest group of immigrants now comes from Mexico. A recent RAND discovered that during most of the 20th Century, while our immigration laws were actually enforced, assimilation worked and made possible the swift attainment of the American dream for millions of immigrants seeking to escape conditions in Mexico.

That is the broader meaning of our nations motto, E Pluribus Unum from many people, one people, the American people.

But there is now an element in our political structure that seeks to undermine that concept of E Pluribus Unum. It seeks to hyphenate Americans, to develop linguistic divisions, to assign rights and preferences based on race and ethnicity, and to elevate devotion to foreign ideologies and traditions, while at the same time denigrating American culture, American values and American founding principles.

In order to do so, they know that they have to stop the process of assimilation. In order to do that, they must undermine our immigration laws.

It is an outrage that a foreign head of state would appear in this chamber and actively seek to do so. And it is a disgrace that he would be cheered on from the left wing of the White House and by many Democrats in this Congress.

Arizona has not adopted a new immigration law. All it has done is to enforce existing law that President Obama refuses to enforce. It is hardly a radical policy to suggest that if an officer on a routine traffic stop encounters a driver with no drivers license, no passport, and who doesn't speak English, that maybe that individual might be here illegally.

And to those who say we must reform our immigration laws I reply that we don't need to reform them we need to enforce them. Just as every other government does. Just as Mexico does.

Above all, this is a debate of, by and for the American people. If President Calderon wishes to participate in that debate, I invite him to obey our immigration laws, apply for citizenship, do what 600,000 LEGAL immigrants to our nation are doing right now, learn our history and our customs, and become an American. And then he will have every right to participate in that debate.

Until then, I would politely invite him to have the courtesy while a guest of this Congress to abide by the fundamental rules of diplomacy between civilized nations not to meddle in each others domestic debates.

ARRA News Service Editor's closing comment: My twitter response: "Mexico's President questioning our immigration laws was insulting but worse was Obama's "kiss ass" diplomacy - Surprised he didn't bow." Thank you, Congressman McClintock for speaking out. If you agree and appreciate Tom McClintock's comments, drop by his campaign site and show your tangible appreciation.

Let's Talk About the Arizona Law

ARRA News Service - Today, Dr. Bill Smith, editor of both the ARRA News Service and Blogs For Borders was the featured guest of Silvio Canto, Jr.'s on his Dallas based "Let's Talk" Internet Radio Show. The topic was "Let's talk about the Arizona law."

Of special interest in the conversational mix between Canto and Smith was the fact that Canto and his parents immigrated legally to the United States from Cuba and that Smith and his family had lived in Belgium and the Philippines subject to the laws of those countries. The show focused on border violence, the Arizona Law, the economic issues related to illegal aliens and rising crime, the need for a sane immigration policy, and the failure of the Federal Government to deal with securing the borders and protecting Arizona and other states. The show is archived and can be listened to at Let's talk about the Arizona law. You can even leave comments about Canto's "Let's Talk" shows.

AG Holder Has Not Read The Arizona Immigration Law That He Criticized

Congressman Ted Poe (R-TX) questioning Attorney General Eric Holder about his knowledge of Arizona Senate Bill 1070 (commonly known as the Arizona Immigration Law). [Video]

Despite repeatedly voicing concerns about Arizona's new immigration enforcement law in recent weeks and threatening to challenge it, Attorney General Eric Holder testified today that he has not yet read the law. Congressman Poe pointed out that the bill was only 10 pages and offered Holder his copy of the bill to read. AG Holder appears to be playing to some kind of Obama agenda verses doing his duties as Attorney General. He has delayed the trials of terrorists, he has defamed Arizona actions to help protect themselves and and their financial interests without even reading the bill, and seems to be constantly boxed into a corner on issues by the administration.

The following letter to the editor posted on Farm Wars addresses circumstances regarding the death of Bob Krentz in Arizona. At present we know he was murdered and the murderer evade capture which means the individual was not a desperate soul seeking to enter America. The murderer appears to have been Cartel Assassin with skills and a plan to evade capture. Bob Krentz was known to be a kind man with regards to aiding abused thirsty, hungry illegals entering the country. However, his land was also being invade and used by drug traffickers and and those trafficking in human beings.
Farm Wars: Source: PPJG Letter to the Editor: As you know, one of our local ranchers, Bob Krentz, an R-CALF member, was murdered in Douglas, AZ, two weeks ago. His funeral is tomorrow. I received three messages from different officers within the Rangers and law enforcement.

Yesterday afternoon I talked to another rancher near us who is a friend of ours and whose great grandfather started their ranch here in 1880. These are good people. He told me what really happened out at the Krentz ranch and what you won’t read in the papers. The Border Patrol is afraid of starting a small war between civilians here and the drug cartels in Mexico .

Bob Krentz was checking his water like he does every evening and came upon an illegal lying on the ground telling him he was sick. Bob called the Border Patrol and asked for a medical helicopter evac. As he turned to go back to his ATV he was shot in the side. The round came from down and angled up so they know the shooter was on the ground. Bob’s firearm was in the ATV so he had no chance.

Wounded he called the Cochise County Sheriff and asked for help. Bleeding in the lungs he called his brother but the line was bad so he called his wife but again the line was bad.

Several ranchers heard the radio call and drove to his location. Bob was dead by this time. The ranchers tracked the shooter 8 miles back towards Mexico and cornered him in a brushy draw. This was all at night. The Sheriff and Border Patrol arrived and told them not to go down and engage the murderer. They went around to the back side and if you can believe it the assassin managed to get by a BP helicopter and a Sheriffs posse and back to Mexico; So much for professional help when you need it.

One week before the murder Bob and his brother Phil (who I shoot with) hauled a huge quantity of drugs off the ranch that they found in trucks. One week before that a rancher near Naco did the same thing. Two nights’ later gangs broke into his ranch house and beat him and his wife and told them that if they touched any drugs they found they would come back and kill them. The ranchers here deal with cut fences and haul drug deliveries off their ranches all the time. What ranchers think is that the drug cartels beat the one rancher and shot Bob because they wanted to send a message. Bob always gave food and water to illegals and so they think they sent the assassin to pose as an illegal who was hungry and thirsty knowing it would catch Bob off guard.

What is going on down here is NOT being reported. You need to tell people how bad it is along the border. Texas is worse. Near El Paso it is nearly in a state of war. 5000 people were killed in Ciudad Juarez last year and it is over 2000 so far this year. Gun sales down here are through the roof and I get emails from people wanting firearms training.

Our president does not want to mention illegal immigration, which is a sour place to him personally. These invaders of the USA do not seem to catch his radar. Something has to be done but I don’t hold out much hope. These gangs have groups in almost every city in the US. This is serious business. The Barrio Azteca and their sub gangs are like Mexican Corporations and organized extremely well. If this doesn’t get dealt with down here you guys will deal with it on your streets further north.

Eliminate All Incentives to Illegals - No More Jobs or Tax Funded Benefits

Nevada, it is time to replace one of the worst U.S. Senators in history: Harry Reid. We beg Nevada voters to send a leader to Washington who supports the principles of the Constitution. If someone breaks the laws of our country, then they are a criminal. If you enter the United States illegally, you are not entitled to taxpayer funded education, health care or social benefits. We must work to eliminate these incentives and crack down on employers who hire illegal aliens.

This is something Harry Reid and the Washington establishment don't understand. At this very moment Reid is crafting a new immigration bill that will grant amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants. Nevada, please do not return socialist democrat pro-amnesty Harry Reid to Washington, D.C.
--------------
Danny Tarkanian For Senate — May 10, 2010 — It's time we sent a leader for the state of Nevada back to Washington who supports the principles of the Constitution. No more jobs and no more tax

Danny Tarkanian: "But illegal immigration is hurting America and Harry Reid's Amnesty plan is nothing more than another bailout for those who break the rules. We need to eliminate all incentives to illegal immigrants; no more jobs and certainly no more taxpayer funded benefits."
-----------
Blogs for Borders has not endorsed a candidate for office, but we do endorsed the message in the above video.

The Real Cost of Illegal's

Conclusions: Twenty-five Americans die at the hands of criminal aliens every day in the U.S. (12 murders + 10 drunk-driving fatalities + 3 negligent homicides = 25 deaths every day) In the year 2005, criminal aliens killed more than three times the number of Americans murdered in the terrorist attacks of 9-11 died. 9,125 Americans died at the hands of criminal aliens in 2005, as compared to approximately 3,000 Americans who perished in 9-11. [Source] Will look for the current stats.

Cinco de MEChA

Mobelo High School Flag Incident
By Kenneth Wallis, Little Rock Examiner: Several stories have been written about the incident at a school where students were kicked off campus for wearing an American Flag on Cinco de Mayo. The below video not only shows the story, but the arrogant attitude of Hispanic students demanding an apology for their holiday only known because of Corona being "offended" by the flag of the country they are living in. During the 2006 Amnesty debate, students were encouraged by leftist school officials to join in illegal alien protest. At Mobelo High School, the U.S. Flag was put under the Mexican Flag. The famous photo is on the No Amnesty for Illegals FB group. As a YouTube commentator points out, "Cinco de Mayo has nothing to do with Mexican heritage , it recognizes a battle in Puebla where Mexican troops beat a much? larger french force , it is only celebrated in Puebla and nowhere else in Mexico, it became known commercially in the states about 15 years ago in an ad campaign by Corona"

Arizona State Senator Responds to SB1070

Hat Tip Jim Kelley, Tuscon Citizen for the following:
AZ State Senator Sylvia Allen Arizona State Senator Sylvia Allen. I want to explain SB 1070 for which I voted yes. Rancher Robert Krentz was murdered by the drug cartel on his ranch a month ago. I participated in a senate hearing two weeks ago on the border violence, here is bjust some of the highlights from those who testified.

The people who live within 60 to 80 miles of the Arizona/Mexico Border have for years been terrorized and have pleaded for help to stop the daily invasion of humans who cross their property . One Rancher testified that 300 to 1200 people a DAY come across his ranch vandalizing his property, stealing his vehicles and property, cutting down his fences, and leaving trash. In the last two years he has found 17 dead bodies and two Koran bibles. Another rancher testified that daily drugs are brought across his ranch in a military operation. A point man with a machine gun goes in front, 1/2 mile behind are the guards fully armed, 1/2 mile behind them are the drugs, behind the drugs 1/2 mile are more guards. These people are violent and they will kill anyone who gets in the way. This was not the only rancher we heard that day that talked about the drug trains. One man told of two illegal's who came upon his property one shot in the back and the other in the arm by the drug runners who had forced them to carry the drugs and then shot them. Daily they listen to gun fire during the night it is not safe to leave his family alone on the ranch and they can't leave the ranch for fear of nothing being left when they come back.

The border patrol is not on the border. They have set up 60 miles away with check points that do nothing to stop the invasion. They are not allowed to use force in stopping anyone who is entering. They run around chasing them, if they get their hands on them then they can take them back across the border. Federal prisons have over 35% illegal's and 20% of Arizona prisons are filled with illegal's. In the last few years 80% of our law enforcement that have been killed or wounded have been by an illegal. The majority of people coming now are people we need to be worried about. The ranchers told us that they have seen a change in the people coming they are not just those who are looking for work and a better life.

The Federal Government has refused for years to do anything to help the border states . We have been over run and once they are here we have the burden of funding state services that they use. Education costs have been over a billion dollars. The healthcare cost billions of dollars. Our State is broke, $3.5 billion deficit and we have many serious decisions to make. One is that we do not have the money to care for any who are not here legally. It has to stop.

The border can be secured. We have the technology and we have the ability to stop this invasion. We must know who is coming and they must come in an organized manner legally so that we can assimilate them into our population and protect the sovereignty of our country. We are a nation of laws. We have a responsibility to protect our citizens and to protect the integrity of our country and the government which we live under. I would give amnesty today to many, but here is the problem, we dare not do this until the Border is secure. It will do no good to give them amnesty because thousands will come behind them and we will be over run to the point that there will no longer be the United States of America but a North American Union of open borders. I ask you what form of government will we live under? How long will it be before we will be just like Mexico , Canada or any of the other Central American or South American country? We have already lost our language, everything must be printed in Spanish. We have already lost our history, it is no longer taught in our schools, and we have lost our borders.

The leftist media has distorted what SB 1070 will do. It is not going to set up a Nazi Germany. Are you kidding? The ACLU and the leftist courts will do everything to protect those who are here illegally, but it was an effort to try and stop illegal's from setting up businesses, and employment, and receiving state services and give the ability to local law enforcement when there is probable cause, like a traffic stop, to determine if they are here legally. Federal law is very clear, if you are here on a visa you must have your papers on you at all times. That is the law. In Arizona all you need to show you are a legal citizen is a driver license, MVD identification card, Native American Card, or a Military ID. This is what you need to vote or get a hunting license. So nothing new has been added to this law. No one is going to be stopped walking down the street. The Socialists who are in power in DC are angry because we dare try and do something. The Socialists wants us to just let them come. They want the "Transformation" to continue.

Maybe it is too late to save America . Maybe we are not worthy of freedom anymore. But as an elected official I must try to do what I can to protect our Constitutional Republic . Living in America is not a right just because you can walk across the border. Being an American is a responsibility and it comes by respecting and upholding the Constitution, the law of our land, which says what you must do to be a citizen of this country. FREEDOM IS NOT FREE.
Senator Sylvia Allen .

Radical Immigration Reform Rally, ATL Ga [Video]

Source:

This was a May 2, 2010, immigration protest in Downtown Atlanta. The literature they are handing out in Atlanta is incredible - In their own words, they are describing this revolution as COMMUNISM!! They want COMMUNISM!! This is very serious and dangerous! John Adams wrote that America is a nation of laws, not men. Yet, they called for LAWLESSNESS! A Democrat Georgia State Representative shamelessly called on the crowd filled with illegal aliens to register and vote! He did not qualify this statement to only include citizens, but clearly was calling for voter fraud.

There have been many illegal alien protests across the country and especially in the Southwest since Arizona's situation became unbearable and they enacted SB 1070. President Barack Obama has called the new law "misguided" and has instructed the Justice Department to examine it to see if it's legal.

We are in serious trouble in this country. We must all join Arizona in their fight. Our clear message must be, "We support Arizona! We support SB 1070! No Amnesty for illegal immigrants! Secure our borders! Enforce our existing immigration laws!"

Arizona Has It Right

by Chuck Baldwin: Open borders advocates are livid that the State of Arizona has enacted a new law authorizing State law enforcement personnel to arrest illegal aliens. The Reverend Al Sharpton is threatening to march. The mayor of San Francisco has declared Arizona off limits as a travel destination. The national government of Mexico has issued travel warnings. President Barack Obama is contemplating bringing a federal lawsuit against the State. Some are calling for a boycott of the State.

So, why all the fuss? The State of Arizona is rightly sick and tired of the federal government's refusal to protect our nation (and the State of Arizona specifically) from this foreign invasion that is commonly referred to as "illegal immigration." In other words, the State of Arizona has said, "If the federal government won't enforce the law, we will." I say, good for them! Now, the other border states (Texas, New Mexico, and California) should do the same thing. Arizona has it right, and the vast majority of the American people know it.

As an aside, if you are considering a visit to the American Southwest this summer, why not support the brave legislators and governor of Arizona, and make a point to spend your leisure dollars in Arizona? And when you do, write a letter to the State capitol and tell them. Even more importantly, I suggest that everyone contact their own State representatives, senators, and governors, and urge them to enact a similar law--to the one Arizona passed--in your State.

And since the national news media refuses to set the record straight on the subject of illegal immigration (one could even say that the national news media is deliberately covering up the record), let's do that right here and now.

First, let's talk about numbers. Even though the Census Bureau (CB) estimates 11 million illegal aliens live in America, the real numbers are much higher. Even CB officials admit that many illegal aliens purposely avoid the census count. A more reliable count is provided by Bear Stearns. It puts the number of illegal aliens at around 20 million. Former US Congressman Tom Tancredo (R-CO), who was Chairman of the Congressional Immigration Reform Caucus, puts the number at over 18 million.

According to Tennesseans for Responsible Immigration Policies (TNRIP), 6,000 immigrants arrive in America EVERY DAY. That equates to more than 2 million EVERY YEAR. In many communities in the Southwest, including Los Angeles, California, and Houston, Texas, Hispanics now comprise a majority of the population. But numbers of illegal aliens are quickly beginning to mount in cities throughout the United States.

For example, TNRIP documents the fact that the Hispanic population grew in three Tennessee counties by more than 70% between 2000 and 2004. In one of those counties (Robertson) it grew over 95% during that time. In seven Tennessee counties, the Hispanic population grew by more than 40%. Now, Tennessee can hardly be considered a "border state." The fact is, what is happening in Tennessee is happening all over the United States. And lest you think this is all harmless, think again.

According to TNRIP, the financial cost of this foreign invasion to U.S. taxpayers is staggering! Here is a breakdown of the annual costs:
Education: $22.5 billion
Bi-lingual Education: $3.3 billion
AFDC: $2.4 billion
SSI: $2.9 billion
Social Security: $24.8 billion
Housing Assistance: $2.6 billion
Criminal Justice: $2.6 billion
Jobs Lost by Americans: $10.8 billion
Other Programs: $51.4 billion
Food Stamps: $7 billion
Health Care: $1.4 billion

The first study of the net cost of illegal immigration to American taxpayers was conducted in 1997 by Dr. Donald Huddle, Professor Emeritus of Economics at Rice University. This study concluded that from 1970 to 1997, illegal immigration had cost taxpayers over $69 billion. Obviously, the financial numbers have exploded since then.

Furthermore, during 1996 alone, more than 2.3 million American workers were displaced by (mostly) illegal aliens. Harvard Professor George Borjas estimates that today American workers lose $133 billion per year in wage depression and job loss.

Back in 2007 it was reported, "LA County Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich announced that a new report shows illegal aliens and their families collected over $35 million in welfare and food stamp allocations in July. "In the report, illegals are said to have collected nearly $20 million in welfare assistance for July 2007 and an additional $15 million in monthly food stamp allocations for an estimated annual cost of $440 million. 'Illegal immigration continues to have a devastating impact on Los Angeles County taxpayers,' said Antonovich. 'In addition to $220 million for public safety and $400 million for healthcare, the $440 million in welfare allocations bring the total cost to County taxpayers that exceeds $1 billion a year--this does not include the skyrocketing cost of education.'"

Consider, too, according to Byron York at National Review, "Heritage Foundation's Robert Rector found that in 2004, the most recent year for which figures are available, low-skill households received an average of $32,138 per household--the great majority in the form of means-tested aid and direct benefits. (Rector excluded from that figure the cost of public goods and interest; with those included, he says, each low-skill household receives an average of $43,084.) Against that, Rector found that low-skill households paid an average of $9,689 in taxes. (The biggest chunk of that was the Social Security tax--$2,509--followed by state and local taxes, consumption taxes, property taxes, and federal income taxes, but Rector counted everything, including highway levies and lottery purchases.) In the final calculation, he found, the average low-skill household received $22,449 more in benefits than it paid in taxes--the $32,138 in benefits, excluding public goods, minus the $9,689 in taxes.

"Taking that $22,449, and multiplying it by the 17.7 million low-skill households, Rector found that the total deficit for such households was $397 billion in 2004. 'Over the next ten years the total cost of low-skill households to the taxpayer (immediate benefits minus taxes paid) is likely to be at least $3.9 trillion,' Rector writes. 'This number would go up significantly if changes in immigration policy lead to substantial increases in the number of low-skill immigrants entering the country and receiving services.'"

It has been noted that 75% of people on LA's most-wanted list are illegal aliens. Nearly 25% of all inmates in California detention centers are here illegally, and roughly 30% of inmates in the federal prisons are illegal aliens.

In addition, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) reports half of all gang members in Los Angeles are most likely illegals from south of the border. According to Tancredo, gang membership by illegal aliens in many states is 50%, and in Phoenix, Arizona, illegal aliens constitute 34% of child-molestation and 40% of auto theft cases.

Furthermore, illegal aliens murder (on average) 12 Americans EVERY DAY, according to Congressman Steve King (R-Iowa). Plus, illegals that drive drunk kill another 13 Americans EVERY DAY. That means illegal aliens kill more Americans EVERY YEAR than have been killed in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars in total. [Source]

Of course, Arizonans are still reeling from the recent high profile murder of a fellow citizen on his own property by an illegal.

Law enforcement agencies are very much cognizant of a surge in Latin American "ultra-violent" gangs that have sprung up in more than 40 US states. According to the FBI, one gang called MS-13 has been identified in 42 states. Another group called the 18th Street Gang is in 37 states. According to FBI MS-13 National Gang Task Force director Brian Truchon, "When the gang migrates throughout the U.S., there is always a road back to L.A. From L.A., there is always a road back to Central America."

Retired lawman Jim Kouri wrote, "According to Lt. Steve Rogers, a decorated cop and award-winning writer, there are tens of thousands of murderers, rapists, child predators, robbers and drug dealers who are illegally in the United States. One study shows over 200,000 criminal aliens are preying on U.S. citizens."

What the Arizona law does is authorize its law enforcement personnel to ENFORCE THE LAW. No one in Arizona is talking about racial profiling or violating citizens' constitutional rights. In fact, the new Arizona law actually mirrors already established federal law. But the federal government has hamstrung State and local police agencies in their attempts to arrest illegals for decades. Now, Arizona policemen can arrest illegals for being in the State of Arizona illegally, and have them deported: something they should have been doing (and have every right to do) all along. No wonder the vast majority of the American people (not to mention the citizens of Arizona) supports the Arizona law.

But there is a greater issue here: the right of the State of Arizona to protect, defend, and govern itself. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, the State sovereignty movement is growing like a wildfire. Whether it is Arizona, Montana, Idaho, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Georgia, Texas, Florida, Alaska, or a couple dozen other states, legislators are beginning to awaken to the constitutional and moral responsibility of each State to govern itself. And when the central government in Washington, D.C., abridges or impedes that responsibility, it is the right and duty of states to resist.

This is why I tell people everywhere I speak, What is going on in [Your State] is infinitely more important than anything that goes on in Washington, D.C. Without the approbation of the State, DC's actions and attitudes are irrelevant. This is why we need county sheriffs, State legislators, State judges, State attorneys general, and governors who--along with their State's citizenry--understand the Constitution and are willing to courageously hold the line for freedom and constitutional government in their respective states. And by passing this anti-illegal alien bill, the State of Arizona did just that--the chagrin and consternation of open borders advocates notwithstanding.

The May Day Angry Mob You Won’t See

The following post by Michelle Malkin on her blog reports on a number of locations via other reports on the events and pictures you don't see in the press and have never seen happen when legal Americans gather to express themselves at a TEA Party. Thank you Michelle & be careful.

Reconquista revolution without borders! (Photo credit: El Marco, Denver)
They came, they saw, they threatened or committed violence in the name of open borders and workers’ rights. But alas, Frank Rich and Paul Krugman’s columns decrying the insane rage and hate of the May Day angry mob got lost in the mail.
In Santa Cruz, they carried torches and vandalized at least 18 businesses:
Downtown business owners spent Sunday repairing shattered windows and doors after a May Day rally Saturday night turned into a riot with approximately 250 people marching along Pacific Avenue, some carrying makeshift torches, throwing large rocks and paint bombs, and spray-painting walls with graffiti.
At least 18 businesses suffered damage during the rally in honor of international workers that began at 9 p.m. and escalated into mayhem around 10:30 p.m., police said. Investigators estimated damage at $100,000, though some business owners said it could be more. No injuries were reported.
On Sunday, sea green-colored glass littered sidewalks where windows and glass doors had been smashed. Maintenance workers, many getting called in the middle of the night, boarded up windows with plywood until new sheets of glass could be installed.
The vandalized businesses included Urban Outfitters, Peet’s Coffee, Noah’s Bagels, Jmba Juice, Velvet Underground and Dell Williams Jewelers. The unoccupied Rittenhouse building also was damaged. A police car was vandalized with rocks and paint, department spokesman Zach Friend said.
In San Francisco, anti-illegal immigration activists were attacked by the May Day marchers:
LISA AMIN GULEZIAN, REPORTER: Allan, for the most part the event was peaceful, but just about an hour ago, three people were attacked and two others were arrested. The people who were assaulted were part of the Minutemen demonstration in favor of Arizona’s new immigration law.
They said a large group of immigrants’ rights supporters followed them to the BART station on Market Street and started punching and kicking them, and calling them names.
PARKER WILSON, BAY AREA ANARCHIST: They said we were racists, and that we were against them, and against their town, and against San Francisco, and what they were saying. They said we needed to get out and they called us racists, and that we need to go home. And then they just attacked my friends and me.
The City Square was at the SF protest and captured the border-sabotaging Che lovers:

Spotted in the window of a San Francisco shop. Didn’t get vandalized, naturally:

In Denver, El Marco caught the Aztlan/anarchist mob at its best (er, worst). Here, the illegal alien advocates accuse us of being the invaders. Really:

The (professionally printed) Nazi card was out in full force in Dallas:

So was more unabashed reconquista sentiment, as I previewed on Saturday. Thanks to reader N.N. for e-mailing these photos:

Behold the culture of open-borders entitlement:

And requisite Tea Party-bashing:

Robbie Cooper has a report on the Che worshipers and socialist agitators at the Austin TX May Day rally. Check out these lovely attendees. As Robbie notes: “One of these masked clowns is a reporter for Univision Channel 62 in Austin:”

A citizen report on the extremist May Day protest in Atlanta GA:

In Minnesota, what do they want?

And how do they want it?

An account from the NYC protest:
About an hour later we were heading to a concert on the NYU campus, and started walking down Broadway toward Astor Place. We started hearing lots of police sirens all at once, and then looked straight ahead. There were young guys with baseball bats and Che signs pinned to their backpacks running down the street smashing store windows, all on the west side of Broadway. We stopped dead on a corner, because there were police cars coming from so many different directions the street lights were rendered meaningless. As soon as we stopped, about 6 NYPD units pulled up to our exact corner and the cops jumped out and tackled two of the vandals literally TWO FEET in front of me. Some other officers arrived, jumped out of their cars, and started a crazy foot pursuit of another guy who started running in zig-zags down the middle of Broadway. They tackled him as well, in the middle of the freakin’ street, as cars kept almost hitting everyone involved. It happened incredibly quickly. There were tons of eyewitnesses, and I even saw a few people videotaping, but of course I can’t find mention of this incident anywhere online or in the media. We had about five minutes to get to the concert, so stopping and gawking wasn’t an option. We just kept walking, tried to get away from the whole mess. But we could see and hear police interviewing plenty of witnesses, and heard people say “they just kept breaking windows”, and saw the perps with their faces in the pavement for ourselves.

This lady says it all regarding the new Arizona Illegal Immigrant Law

The law AZ is enforcing is a federal statute on the books since 1940. It imposes no new requirements on any non-citizen. Try traveling (more so try working) in any foreign country without proper documentation.

City Council Member Regina Romero asked for legal advice on whether the City of Tucson should sue the State of Arizona over SB1070. After the executive session they had a time for public comment. Gabriella was born in Mexico but immigrated the the United States legally and spoke against the idea that the city should sue the state. [Video]

What Pro-Amnesty Forces Arent Telling You About Illegal Immigration

by Sammy Benoit, The LID: Ever since Arizona decided to enforce the immigration laws that the federal government has been ignoring, the progressive lines has been have been flying, "this will lead to racial profiling,"  "This is a racist law," or "the radical right is bringing back Jim Crow laws, just to name a few.  To be truthful, if this law opens a portal to racial profiling, so does the Cop who asks you for your license when you go through a red light or the lady at Walbaums who asks you for an ID to cash a check, and even the guy at 7 Eleven who asks you for ID before he sells you a case of Bud.

At one side of this battle are the residents of Arizona who have been under siege from elements of the drug trade coming up from Mexico. On the other side is the progressive movement who sees an amnesty for Illegal immigrants as a way of gaining enough votes to guarantee the continuation of their effort to change America into a nation of perpetual mediocrity.

While the Attorney General Eric Holder looks for a way to sue Arizona over its new law, his own justice department issued a report that explained why the law was needed.
These facts are reported in the recently released National Drug Threat Assessment for 2010, published by the National Drug Intelligence Center, a division of the U.S. Justice Department. They ought to add some perspective to the national debate raging over Arizona’s new law that requires local law enforcement officers to make a “reasonable attempt” to determine the immigration status of persons they legally come into contact with and whom they reasonably suspect of being in the country illegally

Assaults on Border Patrol agents have massively escalated in recent years, according to the Justice Department threat assessment, which was released on March 25. “Assaults against U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) agents increased 46 percent from 752 incidents in FY2006 to 1,097 incidents in FY 2008,” says the assessment. Given that there are 365 days in the year, 1,097 assaults equals 3 per day.

“Contributing most to this increase were rocking assaults, which rose 77 percent from 435 incidents in FY2006 to 769 incidents in FY2008,” said the assessment. A “rocking assault,” the assessment explains, “is defined as the throwing of rocks at Border Patrol agents by drug or alien smugglers with the intent of threatening or causing physical harm to the agent.”

Along with the violence against border agents, Phoenix has acheived the dubious nickname of the kidnapping capital of America.
“Although much of the violence attributed to conflicts over control of the smuggling routes has been confined to Mexico, some has occurred in the United States,” says the Justice Department assessment. “Violence in the United States … has been limited primarily to attacks against alien smuggling organization (ASO) members and their families—some of whom have sought refuge from violence in Mexico by moving to U.S. border communities such as Phoenix. For example, in recent years, kidnappings in Phoenix have numbered in the hundreds, with 260 in 2007, 299 in 2008, and 267 in 2009.”

The 267 kidnappings in Phoenix in 2009 equals one kidnapping every 1.37 days—or one every 35 hours.

Most of the Drugs flowing into the United Sates come from Mexican drug trafficking organizations (DTOs), which increasingly dominate the U.S. market for illegal drugs, and the pipeline flow through the Southwest US.
“Mexican DTOs continue to represent the single greatest drug trafficking threat to the United States,” says the Justice Department assessment. “Mexican DTOs, already the predominant wholesale suppliers of illicit drugs in the United States, are gaining even greater strength in eastern drug markets where Columbian DTO strength is diminishing.”

Drug production is up in Mexico, the assessment said, and thanks to a massive network of criminal gangs on this side of the border with whom they can do business, the Mexican DTOs now distribute their wares in communities all across America.
“Mexican DTOs increased the flow of several drugs (heroin, methamphetamine, and marijuana) into the United States, primarily because they increased production of those drugs in Mexico,” said the assessment.
The real truth is the opposition to the Arizona Law is performing a cynical trick on the rest of America, they are using this controversy to profile the good people of Arizona as racists.
