Fast and Furious: Failure All the Way Up the Chain of Command

by Velcro, Conservative Observer AZ

LA Times published an exclusive story on the initial information from a joint report from Rep. Daryl Issa, chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, and Sen Charles Grassley, top Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committete, which will be available in full later this week.

What we apparently have here is exactly what NASA had prior to the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster: lack of responsibility, accountability, and cover-up all the way up the chain of command which led to the loss of lives. No fewer than 5 ATF officials are cited by name in the report.

The Mexican government was kept out of the loop, as was known before, and only after the death of the brother of Attorney General for the State of Chihuahua by Fast and Furious guns did they become aware. And, of course, Fast and Furious guns were used in the murder of Border Patrol agen Brian Terry. A similar operation in Texas is likely to have led to the death of ICE agent Jaime Zapata two months after Terry's death.

I wonder if Eric Holder is as eager as I am to see the full report.

Brian Terry Foundation here.
